Hawai‘i Pacific University's Master of Science in Information Systems(MSIS) degree program is designed to create a generation of problem solvers and decision makers who are expert in the areas of information, technology, systems design, and problem solving with automated resources. It is a program designed to apply the scientific principles of modern systems engineering to the corporate need for operational, decision support and strategic planning information.

HPU's MSIS program uses an approach that integrates key ideas from information technology, systems management and decision science. Through this integrated approach, students gain a firm understanding of and appreciation for the power of information and the systems created to supply and manage that information. Advanced problem-solving skills(e.g. business analysis, process reengineering, systems correctness and performance) are emphasized throughout a program that includes: object-oriented analysis, comparative methods in software engineering, telecommunications, project management, client-server architectures, strategic planning and database theories. Students can individualize their program with elective courses such as Electronic Commerce, Information Systems Security, Knowledge Management, Human-Machine Interfaces and Global Systems, among others.
