ハワイパシフィック大学では学生が大学で学んだ事を実社会で実践できるように、Cooperative Education とインターンシップを提供しています。このプログラムに参加する事で職業経験が得られるだけでなく、単位も取得できます。又、将来どんな職につきたいかはっきり分からない人も、色々な職場での職業体験を通して自分にあった職を見つける事ができます。

専攻科目と関係したインターンシップ等をする事によって大学生は12単位、院生は3単位まで取得可能です。労働時間200時間をこなし、労働する会社等の管理者からの満足いく仕事技能評価、大学の授業のコンセプトに関連した仕事場での状況や問題についての論文を提出する事によって1単位が取得できます。学生はセメスター中いつでもこれらの職業体験プログラムの登録ができます。HPUのカウンセラーが職業探しやインターンシップの申込み等の手伝いをしてくれます。もちろん留学生もこのプログラムに参加する事ができます。留学生アドバイザーとキャリアカウンセラーがアメリカ移民局が認可するインターンシップを探す手伝いをしてくれます。

Career Services Center (CSC)
Career development and preparation is an integral part of Hawai'i Pacific University's mission statement. Great pride is taken to provide a wide array of career services to meet the needs of all students and graduates. The hope is to arm students with the career knowledge and job skills necessary to obtain a variety of career opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally.

SERVICES

Career Counseling
Career counselors administer and interpret career assessments.
Students can obtain company and career literature.
An individualized career plan can be formulated.

Job Preparation
Students can meet with a career counselor to discuss and prepare for the job search.
Workshops are also provided on topics including cover letter and resume writing, interview preparation, and job search techniques.

Job Search Assistance
A Job Search Registry system is available for students actively seeking employment or intending to seek employment. Internet access is available to search for company information and opportunities worldwide.

Employment Listing
Weekly Job Bulletin lists part-time, full-time, internship, and volunteer opportunities. The job bulletin is available around campus and on the CSC Web pages.
A Special Events Calendar highlights recruitment activities such as resume submittal deadlines for various career opportunities, on-campus interviews, career seminars/workshops, career conferences/fairs outside of HPU, and on-campus focused career fairs.

Cooperative Education and Internships
This is a structured educational experience combining classroom learning with productive work experience in a field related to a student's academic or career goals. Co-op or internship is a partnership among students, educational institutions, and employers, with specified responsibilities for each party.

Career Opportunities Referrals
Students approaching graduation can prepare for career opportunities in their fields of study. Assistance is provided to alumni, graduate, and undergraduate students to secure professional employment upon graduation and beyond.

Cooperative Education (アルバイト)

フルタイムの大学生はＥＦＰを修了し、２学期間授業に出席し24単位を取得した時点で成績が基準（GPAが２以上）以上であった場合、Co-op Program を通してアルバイトが許可されます。このプログラムは学生が各自の専攻に関連した職業経験を実社会で得られると共に、多少の収入も得られるというものです。ただし、関連企業の都合もあるので、大学側では学生が必ず希望の職につけるという保証はできません。

インターンシップ

各専攻別に用意されたプログラムで必須科目にもなっています。給料が有るものと無いものがあります。通常、大学３・４学年生や院生が参加します。インターンシップ期間はパートタイムかフルタイムでの仕事で3-9ヶ月間までです。インターンシップ参加資格は大学生の成績がGPA2.7以上、院生で3以上となっています。給料が支給されないインターンシップは特に学生にインターンシップ先の会社や職業について幅広く体験できるように作られています。この場合、インターンは従業員というよりはその組織の訓練生として扱われます。
