We will consider all courses completed with a grade of "C"/2.0
or above from an accredited school for transfer credit.
You only transfer credit not your grade point average (GPA). Cumulative
GPA from all colleges and universities attended is only used in your
honors point calculation for honors at graduation and some honors
societies.
There is no expiration date on your transfer credit.
Given adequate processing time, an evaluation of your credits based
on the major you are applying for will be done and you will know exactly
how many credits will transfer before you register.
Your credit evaluation will show all courses that are transferable
to HPU. Students are free to explore degree programs to see where
their credits will apply.
We recognize credit from multiple sources, such as Advanced Placement,
the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), U.S. military training,
licensure examinations, and other work-related education.
Articulation Agreements
Hawai'i Pacific University has more than 100 articulation agreements
with various institutions throughout the United States recognizing
and guaranteeing transfer credits for courses complete with a grade
of "C" or higher.
Normally students transferring from two-year colleges can transfer
a maximum of 60 credits toward a baccalaureate degree at HPU.
Students completing an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree under an articulation
agreement will have fulfilled all general education and unrestricted
elective credits toward their baccalaureate degree program at HPU,
with the exception of those courses that are prerequisites to their
upper division and major courses.
All lower-and upper-division and major courses will need to be completed
at HPU unless the course was completed at a college or university
prior to transferring. In specific cases, students completing an A.A.
may transfer up to 79 credits.
Hawai'i Pacific University also has agreements with various Associate
of Science degree programs at community colleges in Hawai'i, California,
and Seattle, Washington that transfer to equivalent baccalaureate
degree programs at HPU.
Course Equivalencies
In addition to formal articulation agreements our transcript evaluators
have determined course equivalencies for many other schools from which
HPU students have transferred. These are meant only as a guide, a
formal evaluation of your credits will be completed once you are accepted
to HPU.

FOR
INTERSEGMENTAL GENERAL EDUCATION TRANSFER CURRICULUM (IGETC)
AND
THE ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE
Students transferring from the California Community College System
completing the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum
(IGETC) for either the University of California or the California
State University systems will have fulfilled the lower division General
Education requirements at Hawai'i Pacific University. This does not
include waiving of general education courses that are prerequisites
to upper division and major courses, unless that specific course was
taken at the community college. Maximum credit award will be based
on credits completed with a grade of C- or higher.
Students transferring from the California Community College System
completing an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, or similar
degree, will receive the same transfer credit award as the IGETC (above).
In addition, credits will be awarded for all Lower Division Unrestricted
Elective courses required for a Baccalaureate program. Students enrolled
in an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree program in
a specific major should consult with a transfer counselor at their
community college or with the Admissions Office at Hawai'i Pacific
University to determine whether a specific program-to-program articulation
exists.

General
Students from community colleges are generally allowed to transfer
up to 60 semester hours in academic subjects.
Students completing coursework under an articulation agreement between
their current college and Hawai'i Pacific University may, in specific
cases, be awarded up to 79 transfer credits.
Under these circumstances, the student’s last 45 credits toward a
bachelor’s degree must be taken at Hawai'i Pacific University and
be at the upper division (3000 - 4000) level.
Community college courses are normally awarded as lower division credit,
however courses that are transferred to replace upper level coursework
at Hawai'i Pacific University may, after meeting certain criteria,
be granted as upper division.
Additional program specific requirements may need to be completed
prior to graduation.
Students enrolled in an Associate’s degree program wanting to maximize
their transfer credits should refer to the PDF file located to the

Seattle Community College District
ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
SEATTLE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT
ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE
AND
HAWAI'I PACIFIC UNIVERSITY
This agreement establishes the guaranteed transfer of courses taken
by students at Seattle Central, South Seattle, and North Seattle Community
Colleges.
Students completing the Associate of Arts degree will be considered
to have fulfilled all lower division General Education requirements
at Hawai'i Pacific University. The exception would be for those lower
division General Education courses that are prerequisites to upper
division courses. In addition, credits will be awarded for all lower
division Unrestricted Elective courses that are required for a baccalaureate
degree. Credit awards will not exceed the total number of credits
that a student has completed at their community college.
To receive the maximum number of transfer credits, it would be to
the student's advantage to complete an Associate of Arts degree, taking
courses that are similar to the degree program to be completed at
HPU. Students seeking a degree at Hawai'i Pacific University without
completing an Associate of Arts will probably not transfer the same
number of credits completed at their community college. Students transferring
to Hawai'i Pacific University will need to complete at least 54 upper
division credits. Keep in mind that students need to finish at least
four courses in their major area of study, and take their last 30
credits in residence at Hawaii Pacific University - regardless of
the transfer credit award. Upon completion of a Bachelor's degree
students are eligible to continue on to a graduate degree program
at Hawaii Pacific providing they have met all graduate admission requirements.
All students entering HPU take the English and Math Placement Test
unless exempt due to transfer credit awarded, or by other criteria
as determined by the Admissions Office. If a student is found to be
deficient, and this is not expected, in either English and/or math,
developmental coursework outside of their major may be required.
Courses that are clearly vocational or technical may not transfer
to Hawai'i Pacific University. Guaranteed transfer credit will be
awarded for courses passed with a grade of ‘C-’ or higher. Course
awards will be converted to semester hours.
Advanced Placement Credits
Students who have taken the Advanced Placement Exams and have received
a passing score of 3 or higher will be eligible for transfer credit
基本的に文学士専攻から化学士専攻になるとトランスファーできる科目が少なくなります。例えば、HPUで人気のある海洋学では生物学、化学、物理学の専門コースを多く履修しなければなりません。人気の旅行産業管理学(Travel
Industry Management) も化学士専攻になり、この専攻では会計学、数学、ビジネス学を多く履修する事になります。
